Do you have availability for...?
What is the cost of one night?
Prices vary according to the type of accommodation desired, the season and ongoing events. You can find the price list on our web page: http://www.corvinpoint.com/rooms.php
Are there any extra costs I should know about?
There are no hidden costs. Sheets, towels, internet, tea and coffee, maps of the city and so on are all included in the price of the night.
Can I make payment in euro?
Yes, you can. We accept EUR and HUF in case of cash payment. The current exchange rate will be taken into consideration when you make payment in euro.
Is there a lockout or curfew?
No, our reception is open 24 hours a day. There is no lock-out during the day and night. However, we have the right to enter the rooms to clean or to show people their beds.
What time is check-in /check-out?
Check-out is at 10.00am. You can leave your bags for the day in our free luggage storage. Rooms for new arrivals are generally available after 12:00; if you arrive before your room is ready, you may check in at the front desk and leave your luggage in our luggage room and relax or get a free map and visit the city right away.
Can I arrive late at night / early in the morning?
Please always write us or call us (+36.70.544.0224) in case of late/early check in. If you arrive before 12:00 in the morning, we can not guarantee that your room/bed will be ready, but you can use our free luggage storage, get a free map, and start the sight seeing right away. By the time you are back to the hostel your room will be ready.
How do I get to the hostel?

Do you speak English?
All of our reception staff speak English and will be more than happy to help you with any questions you might have.
Is smoking permitted in the hostel?
Some part of the hostel are quipped smoke detector so smoking is forbidden in the hostel apart from the balcony and yard area. If we spot a person smoking inside the hostel, we may take certain steps and even decline accommodation.
Can I invite my friends to the hostel?
During the day we don't have anything against it but between 10 PM and 8 AM only our guests and staff are allowed to be at the hostel. If a person not registered in our hostel happen to be in the hostel, we may take certain steps and even decline accommodation of the person who brought the other person when it was forbidden.
About the reservation system ...
Our reservation system is provided by all the popular booking websites such as hostelworld.com, hostelbookers.com. Valid credit card details are required to book online. Secure online reservations can be made through our website with PAYPAL account or proper credit card.
We can accomodate groups up to 18 people. We do not accommodate stag dos, hens nights or any type of school groups (between the age of 14-22) (if you booked with us and you’ll be one of those we will decline to accommodate you and charge you for the whole stay). However our clean and spacious rooms can meet even hotel standards, currently we do not have common area for large groups, so it is impossible to organize any kind of group activities in the building of the hostel. We also have to make sure about the comfort of our guests and the residents therefore there is also a very strict noise policy in the building after 22:00.
Can you please send me a confirmation for my visa application?
We don't send any confirmation to embassies unfortunately, we're sorry about that.
Do I need to book ahead of time or can I just show up?
We recommend reserving ahead of time whenever possible. Availability in high season in our hostel changes constantly. If you turn up and we’re fully booked, we will try to help to find you other hostels to sleep in.

Your email provider may be using spam filters. Please check your spam folders. If you still have not received your confirmation, or if your email provider deletes possible spam, please email the hostel.
I need to cancel my reservation.
Cancellations are subject to our cancellation policy. Please cancel your beds not sooner than 24 hours before your arrival. Cancellation made through telephone is not valid. To cancel your booking please send us email at email@example.com with the name of the person who made reservation, date of arrival, date of departure and reference number of your booking. Otherwise, you’ll be charged the amount of first night rate.
Why do I need a credit card to reserve?
In case of no-shows or late cancellations, we retain the right to debit a penalty fee from your card equal to the total of the first night’s accommodation. For further details, see the Reservation Terms and Conditions.
Is it safe to book online?
Yes, it is safe.
Is my credit card charged ahead of time when I make a reservation?
Your credit card is not charged before your arrival, we just keep your cc details for security reasons. You pay all the balance on arrival.
Where do my personal details go?
On arrival we record your passport details as required by the local authority. We do not sell any information to spammers or outside market research companies.
Are dorm rooms mixed sex or single sex?
Normally all our dorms are mixed sex. In off season we might arrange single sex dorms if it is needed.
Are private rooms available?
There are a limited number of private double rooms, 3-bed privates, and 4-bed privates (double bed + bunk bed).
Do you have rooms with private bathrooms?
All our private rooms has their own bathroom inside the private room.
Do you have single rooms?
We do not have single rooms at this time, but a double room as single use may be arranged. Please email our staff with your request.
How big are the dorm rooms?
Dorms range in size from 4 to 8 people.
What is a Dorm Bed?
A dorm bed is a bed in a dormitory room, a room shared with other people. Dormitory beds are reserved on a per bed basis. For each guest there is a bed, locker and night lamp to use.
What is the difference between a Double room and a Twin room?
A Double Room is a private room for usually two (2) people.They are spacious rooms with one king size bed ( not two single beds). Though, there is an option to organize an extra bed for extra . Please inform us about it in advance. Double rooms are reserved on a per room basis.
What is a `Communal` or `Shared Bath`?
Shared Bath` means that the communal bathrooms and showers are outside of your room in a common area. We pay extra attention to the cleanlyness in the shared showers.
Do you have lockers or a safe?
In the dorm rooms each person has a large locker for which you receive a padlock with a spare key on the check-in. There is no deposit for either the keys or padlock but in case you lose them we charge you some money equivalent.
Is luggage storage available for the day I check out?
Yes, you may store your baggage with us free of charge. Our luggage storage is at the reception.
Services & facilities
Are sheets and blankets provided?
Yes, bed linen and blankets are included in the price. For sanitary reasons, sleeping bags are not permitted.
Are showers included?
Yes, hot showers are available 24 hours a day at no charge to our guests.
Are there any maps?
Our helpful staff will be more than happy to indicate the most useful locations and some cool places in Budapest.
Do you do airport pick ups/ drop offs?
No, but TAXI companies can take you to/from the airport for flat rate (4400 HUF/~17 EUR)
Do you have air conditioning/heating?
We have central heating for the cold months of the year and we also have optional airconditioning in all our privates rooms and some of the dorms as well. The air-conditioning costs extra for 5EUR/night.
Do you have cooking facilities?
A self-catering kitchen is available. Use of our fully equipped kitchen facilities is free for our guests. The kitchen is open 24 hours.
Do you have Internet access? WIFI?
Yes, and it’s FREE!
Do you have laundry facilities?
We provide laundry services (Washing+Drying: 1500+500HUF including washing gel and plastic bag). There are also clothing racks to hang your clothes on the balcony or in your room.
Do you have maps of Budapest?
Yes, we provide free maps of Budapest to all of our guests.
Is breakfast included?
The breakfast service is suspended in the beginning of 2011 until we make an even better and more convenient place in the building of the hostel. We do our best to get the breakfast back again as soon as possible. During this period we can provide free coffee and fresh tea anytime and if you need something more substantial, you can make it yourself in the kitchen – just make sure you clean up after yourself! There are lots of places around (bakeries, pubs, cafés) where you can have cold or cooked breakfast at a very reasonable price (2-3 euro).
Is parking available?
However from Friday 18:00 until Monday 8:00 the parking is free of charge in the street of the hostel, parking costs money almost everywhere in the city during the weekdays. Metered parking can be found on the street of the hostel which costs 280HUF/hour, but only 3 hours can be bought at the same time. There is a 24/7 private parking lot with camera surveillance just 2 corners away from the hostel for 10EUR/day. The staff will show you how to use it and where to park.
Is there an elevator?
No, but the hostel is operating only on the ground floor and the 1st floor.
We do not accommodate stag dos, hens nights or any type of school groups (if you booked with us and you’ll be one of those we will decline to accommodate you and charge you for the whole stay). We refuse accommodation to group bookings of more than 18 people.
By making a reservation with your credit card you agree that in the event that you cancel your reservation less than 24 hours from your agreed check-in time or that you fail to arrive by your agreed check-in time, you authorise the travel services provider to charge your credit card without further reference to you an amount not exceeding one night's charge in the case of accommodation or such amount as may be set out in the service provider's terms and conditions in the case of non-accommodation product.
The hostel is non-smoking area however you can smoke on a balcony area or in the yard.
Between 10 PM and 6 AM people who are not our guests or members of staff can’t stay in the hostel area
All the unnecessary damage (such as results of heavy drinkingJ) is being covered by the ones that caused it.
All nights of accommodation must be paid for on arrival
The Corvin Point Hostel Management and Staff reserve the right to refuse accommodation to anyone or end their stay before the reservation finishes if standards of behaviour are not met, in cases such as this no money will be refunded to the guests.
People can not share one dorm bed.
Cancellation policy, Terms and Conditions
Cancellation conditions of reservations coming through external online booking companies.
Your credit card will be charged ONLY:
1- In cases of "no show"
2- If you cancel or change the date of your reservation with less than 24hrs notice. (i.e. after midday on the day before you are due to arrive). The amount charged will be the total of the first night of your reservation. You will also lose your deposit which is nonrefundable.
Cancellation conditions of reservations made via telephone, email or directly with the hostel.
In cases of no show we won’t refund any money. You need to contact us about any slight alter to your booking in more than 24 hours notice.
Cancellation conditions of your stay while already in the hostel.
You have the right to shorten your stay in our hostel but just before fulfilling the payment. We don’t refund the money in case any booking changes.
